Ta se za\u010dala stav\u011bt v roce 1968 na trase kop\u00edruj\u00edc\u00ed jednu z v\u011btv\u00ed star\u00e9 Hedv\u00e1bn\u00e9 stezky. M\u011b\u0159\u00ed 1300 km, pr\u016fjezdn\u00e1 byla po deseti letech od za\u010d\u00e1tku stavby, spot\u0159ebovala 8 tis\u00edc tun dynamitu a p\u0159es 800 \u017eivot\u016f&#8230; Na jednom m\u00edst\u011b u soutoku \u0159eky Indus a Gilgit prot\u00edn\u00e1 bod, kde se potk\u00e1vaj\u00ed t\u0159i poho\u0159\u00ed &#8211; Him\u00e1laj, Kar\u00e1k\u00f3ram a Hinduk\u00fa\u0161. Dnes je velk\u00e1 \u010d\u00e1st rekonstruovan\u00e1, ale nebezpe\u010dnost m\u00edstn\u00edch silnic n\u00e1m p\u0159ipomn\u011bla nehoda autobusu v prudk\u00fdch serpentin\u00e1ch. <!--more-->\u0158idi\u010d usnul a autobus narazil do sk\u00e1ly. Z v\u00edce jak poloviny zcela zni\u010den\u00e9ho vozidla vytahali 28 mrtv\u00fdch t\u011bl, kter\u00e9 vyrovnali vedle sebe na silnici&#8230;Cestou jsme na ob\u011bd zastavili v Abbottab\u00e1du, co\u017e je celkem nezaj\u00edmav\u00e9 m\u00edsto, kdyby se tu v dom\u011b n\u011bjakou dobu neukr\u00fdval s rodinou Us\u00e1ma bin L\u00e1din, ne\u017e ho zde vyp\u00e1tralo a zast\u0159elilo americk\u00e9 komando. A mo\u017en\u00e1 to bylo p\u0159\u00ed\u010dinou, pro\u010d se n\u00e1m v noci ud\u011blalo tak zle. Bakteri\u00e1ln\u00ed infekce, jakou jsem neza\u017eil. Teplotu st\u0159\u00eddala dlouhotrvaj\u00edc\u00ed zimnice, pr\u016fjem st\u0159\u00eddalo zvracen\u00ed. O to hor\u0161\u00ed, \u017ee n\u00e1s dal\u0161\u00ed den \u010dekala cesta k &#8222;zabij\u00e1ck\u00e9&#8220; osmitisicovce Nanga Parbat&#8230;Autobus n\u00e1s vysadil u Raikotsk\u00e9ho mostu. Tam jsme p\u0159esedli do mal\u00fdch d\u017e\u00edp\u016f, kter\u00fdmi jsme se dostali do vesni\u010dky Tato, v\u00fdchozi\u0161t\u011b k z\u00e1padn\u00ed \u0161t\u011bn\u011b Nanga Parbatu. Jestli se d\u00e1 n\u011bco nazvat nebezpe\u010dnou silnic\u00ed, tak pr\u00e1v\u011b tato \u00fazk\u00e1, do sk\u00e1ly vysekan\u00e1 cesta stoupaj\u00edc\u00ed po strm\u00fdch \u00fabo\u010d\u00edch vedouc\u00edch snad kilometr nad stejnojmennou \u0159\u00ed\u010dkou, kterou projedou jen tato kr\u00e1tk\u00e1 ter\u00e9nn\u00ed vozidla. Vzhledem ke stavu st\u0159ev bylo na mnoha m\u00edstech p\u0159i pohledech na kolm\u00e9 sr\u00e1zy t\u011bsn\u011b pod koly, velmi obt\u00ed\u017en\u00e9 udr\u017eet sv\u011bra\u010de funk\u010dn\u00ed&#8230; \ud83d\ude1cTo ale st\u00e1le nebylo ten den to nejhor\u0161\u00ed&#8230; Prvn\u00ed \u010d\u00e1st treku do Fairy Meadows m\u00e1 sice d\u00e9lku jen necel\u00fdch 7 km s p\u0159ev\u00fd\u0161en\u00edm 600 metr\u016f, ale dehydratovan\u00fd, nevyspal\u00fd a m\u00e1lo aklimatizovan\u00fd jsem nebyl schopen norm\u00e1ln\u00edho pohybu. Musel jsem zastavovat ka\u017ed\u00fdch p\u00e1r metr\u016f, p\u0159ekon\u00e1vat nauzeu, a\u017e jsem ji nakonec nep\u0159emohl a poprv\u00e9 v \u017eivot\u011b jsem myslel, \u017ee nedojdu. Nakonec jsem dorazil po v\u00edce jak t\u0159ech hodin\u00e1ch, zcela vy\u010derpan\u00fd a za tmy.R\u00e1no mi bylo trochu l\u00e9pe, i kdy\u017e jedin\u00e9 j\u00eddlo, kter\u00e9 jsem byl schopen poz\u0159\u00edt, byla Coca Cola. Zkusil jsem j\u00edt druhou \u010d\u00e1st treku do z\u00e1kladn\u00edho t\u00e1bora a dal si z\u00e1vazek, \u017ee jen do prvn\u00edho poblit\u00ed. Kolem poledne jsem se do\u0161kr\u00e1bal na vyhl\u00eddkov\u00e9 m\u00edsto nad Raikotsk\u00fd ledovec s pozad\u00edm masivu Nanga Parbat. Rozhodl jsem se pokra\u010dovat i na druhou obt\u00ed\u017en\u011bj\u0161\u00ed \u010d\u00e1st cesty. Tu\u0161il jsem, \u017ee budu litovat, co\u017e se v z\u00e1v\u011bre\u010dn\u00e9m v\u00fdstupu posledn\u00edch nekone\u010dn\u00fdch p\u00e1r des\u00edtek metr\u016f uk\u00e1zalo jako spr\u00e1vn\u00fd odhad. Naho\u0159e jsem byl tak grogy, \u017ee jsem u\u017e nedok\u00e1zal doj\u00edt ani k pam\u00e1tn\u00edku ob\u011btem hory, ani pam\u00e1tn\u00edku n\u011bmeck\u00fdch horolezc\u016f, kter\u00e9 na tomto m\u00edst\u011b v roce 2008 zavra\u017edili v noci islamist\u00e9&#8230; Byl jsem ale r\u00e1d, \u017ee jsem cedtu nevzdal, I kdy\u017e to byl jen base camp.
